The Al Ain Amblers Rugby Club played host to the first ever “Al Ain Pet Festival” earlier this month.  Organized by PETME Magazine and Showline FZE the Al Ain Pet Festival was presented by Eurovets, in association with the Al Ain Municipality and Royal Veterinary Centre. The event was a great day out for the whole family to enjoy as well as learn about animal care and welfare.  Several dogs were available for adoption for those wanting to take home their best friend.

Event highlights included a wonderful interactive show by the Abu Dhabi police K9 dog unit where children were invited to take part in various exercises with the animals.

Other events included:

• The 4th WKU-CAC All Breeds Dog Show

• A Dog Agility Competition

• A Cat Beauty Competition

• Woof Parade (Dogs & Owners Walk)

• Abu Dhabi Police K9 Dog Squad

• Pet & Owner Fancy Dress Competition

“it’s wonderful to see a whole event dedicated to animals in our city.  I have been here for 10 years and have never seen anything like this before that pets and their owners can enjoy together.  I hope this is the first of many” said Ivan – a long term Al Ain resident originally from the UK.
